I’m Darren Jeffery, owner of J100. We have been supplying Horticultural Services in East Dorset and West Hampshire for over 10 years, and we have never advertised. The business has grown because our satisfied customers bring us more customers, which is perfect. We have decided now though that the time has come for us to have our own website, to explain the services we provide and share some of the kind words of our customers. And if appropriate also, to help you decide you’d like to do business with us too!
We offer a full range of gardening services to a mix of private and commercial customers – from grounds maintenance including weed control, to soft landscaping and planting. Our work is varied and includes at one extreme maintaining the greens of golf courses and at the other, tending small private gardens. We source and supply plants of the highest quality, plant and maintain them, providing a seamless service and providing beautiful grounds, gardens and surroundings for our customers to enjoy.
I have always been passionate about plants, and since I was 8 years old knew that I wanted to work outside, involved in gardening. When I was 14, I did a 4 week summer holiday placement at Double H Nurseries in New Milton, and at 15 I worked at MacPenny’s Nursery in Bransgore for the summer and weekends. It was always about plants!
In 2002 I became an Apprentice Gardener at Chewton Glen Hotel – this was the most amazing way to begin my real career in my chosen field, and it’s where I learned on the job, the most enormous amount about grounds maintenance, plant growing and nursery management. Whilst there I attended Sparsholt College on a day release course, and achieved NVQII in Amenity Horticulture (Parks & Open Spaces etc), RHS Certificate in Horticulture, and FEPA Spraying Certificate. In February 2005 I left Chewton Glen to follow my own path, which was to start up J100 Horticulture.
Now and the future
10 years on and the proud owner of an established, even mature horticultural business, I am delighted to offer the services of myself and my experienced team. Together we have in common our skills in grounds maintenance and soft landscaping, and we are all passionate about growing plants!
